Multiple game .exes are failing

So I'm having an issue. I've looked all over the web, and in the steam communities, I'm having multiple .exe failures on start up. Normally games start fine, after opening cinematics, and sometimes their home menus, but the second the game either starts, or begins to run, It's main exe fails.
I.e. Fallout: New Vegas gets a failure after the opening cinematic. "FalloutNV has stopped working.
Rainbow 6: Vegas gets a failure after opening credits, when prompted to "Press any button" when entering the main menu.

I really have no idea how to fix this, and I'm not very knowledgeable.
Please help!

I would probably run memtest scan on your memory, might be failing on you. Also make sure you have no malware on your system. How long as this been going on? If just recently, try doing a system restore back to a day it was working properly.

I seriously can't figure it out. I dont know how to do a system restore, and I don't want to lose any files.
I did a virus check, and my system is clean.
I also don't know how to run memtest, but if it has anything to do with ram, I have 13 gigs of it, so I don't see how that could be the issue.

You won't lose any files. Here is how you do it.

Memory can be faulty. You say you have 13gbs of memory, which is a weird number to have. Faulty memory can cause this issue.

Here is how you run memtest.
