Multiple LAN cards

ok heres my problem my house has a wireless lan setup and i only have one lan adapter for my computer, i have 3 computers that need to be on the internet. (they are close enough for lan cables)
what ive done is hook up another computer via lan ports and got internet by sharing my wireless network with my lan card, and that worked for 1 computer.
althogh ive always had problems with it connecting properly it did work most of the time.
now i want to hook up the other 2 computers, so i put in 2 more lan cards and installed them (surprisingly they didn't interfere with each other) and now i cant even connect one computer back up.

ive tried releasing the ip and renewing it but when i renew it it gives me a DHCP error.
i think all i need to do is manually configure the IP's so they match but i dont know how to

i am quite adept at computers but my networking is NOT my strongsuit

SETUP:
1.Computer with wireless card
windows XP home
3 lan cards (on-board doesn't work)
socket 478B MB with pentium 4 1GB RAM
2.computer that used to work on lan
Windows XP Pro/ Windows 7
on-board lan
Socket LGA 775 with Core 2 Duo 2GB RAM
3.other computer
DELL (newer)
windows Vista (EWWWWWWWW)
on-board lan
4.last computer (not as important)
ubuntu (whatever the basic 32-bit version is)
msi MB with pentium4 or 3
onboard-LAN

OMG this is a long post, phew....

I know its gonna be a little expensive, but in your case, I would put wireless cards in each computer, don't even mess with internet connection sharing.

not an option or i would have already done it

like i said i did get it word before with one computer but when i put the other 2 lan cards even that one stopped working

i really think all i need to do is manually configure the IP's
