Multiple monitors

Ok, Im running a GT540m. it has VGA out and my desktop monitor has VGA connection. What I want to do is have a temp app and the CPU usage up on the desktop monitor while gaming on the laptop. I can get the apps over on the desktop screen, but when I start BF BC2, the desktop screen just blanks out.

So, how might I go about getting the monitor to continue showing the pertinent data?

Do you have it set to clone or extended desktop?

I have had that happen a few times. I just hit Alt Enter twice to switch from full screen to windowed and back to full screen. Not a great fix by any means but it works for me

I have it set to entended. Thats the only two options that it has, clone or extend. I know cloning it isnt going to help.

Don't go through so much trouble.
Just use the EVGA precisions HUD which will do the job,it will display temps,GPU usage,Clocks everything on the left side top of your screen of laptop.Then you can record those temps and go about overclocking.

you will have to setup the HUD first after downloading EVGA precision and also which keyboard do you have for your desktop ???

just a generic logitech from walmart. I dont generally get the expensive things for the keyboard/mouse.

If you had a keyboard with a display you could have connected the keyboard your laptop and monitored the temps on the keyboard itself too.
