Multiple taskbars on one monitor?

I would like to have a task bar on 2-4 sides of one monitor .. or maybe a couple on one monitor and a couple on another. Is there a way to do that? If not, then what is the reason behind it? Thanks!

If you have two monitors i think the taskbar extends onto it, if i'm correct.

The taskbar does not extend. You will need a 3rd party application to set this up.

if I'm not mistaken, what he's wanting is multiple taskbars on the same monitor (i.e. normal taskbar on bottom and an added taskbar on the side of the display, top, etc.)

but as far as multiple monitor taskbars, smajer is right, you need third party software for this functionality.

as for the multi taskbar thing, I'm not sure how you would do it.
