Multiple TVs as monitors...Help!

I need some help from the network and graphics gurus here.

Situation: We have 6 large LCD television sets that we need to be able to link into several computers. Imagine 6 laptops running in an operations cell and each one can display their own information on their designated screen. That is easy I think...a designated cable from each laptop to each screen.

The question is...how can we display one image across all 6 TVs when needed?

Anybody know good articles or good spot to research this? What would be the best equipment to use?

Laptops: Dell 6300 / Nvidia Quadro 3600M FX / Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme

Are you saying one image stretched across all the screens or the same image on each screen. I know there's software out there that allows you to control computers and share information... I can't remember what they used at the highschool, but it shouldn't be difficult to essentially show one feed from one computer on each machine...

But if you want it stretched out... There's probably software out there somewhere to do that, but I don't know of anything. It'd probably be much easier (though more expensive) to use one machine...

Now I think someone posted some kind of program that allowed a laptop to be used as an additional display over a network... I'm sorry I can't think of the name right off, but that might be a something to start searching for....

Thanks for the responses...that is what I mean...one image streached across all screens. Also having the capability to show each laptops screen on the TVs.

We have the Command Post and there is 6 stations for different purposes. Each station has a laptop and needs to show THEIR information on an individual screen. When it is needed...the Battle Captain's computer must be able to show a large image across all screens.
