Multiplyer Went Up With New Processor?

I thought I had control of this not the processor.. it went from 10 to 11 when going from a 3200+ to a 3500+.. ?

The multiplier is upward locked on all non-FX Athlon 64s. So you can lower the multiplier but not raise it.
 
You don't have the control, the CPU does. In order to keep the same motherboard frequency but raise the speed of the processor, CPU makers increase the multiplier.
 
the fx series (read: enthusiast) is not mult locked. I guess they do it with the a64's to keep the market strong. Amd has always been overclock friendly.. but they are a business and can't afford to have everyone easily overclocking by the multiplier to high levels.

Exactly. Before Intel and AMD started locking their processors, they realized that everyone was just raising the multiplier on low-end chips.
