music compressor

How can I compress my music so not much quality is lost but it is smaller (at least 3/4 original)?

I have a PSP with a 1gig stick, and want to fit all the homebrew and music I have. I don't have a full gig of music, only about 7-800 megs, but I have like 500megs of homebrew and apps.

well encode the MP3s as VBR and 128Kbps max, that should work pretty good while keeping decent sound quality.

well....whatever you use....Audacity is a good audio editing prog,
Winamp can do it too if u can find the option.

Erm...all I need is a way to make music files smaller...

NOT a dj advertising his services. Unless you have some dj-exclusive music compressor I could used.

Which, acutally, I don't need since I've already compressed what I want.
