Mutliple Monitor Laptop.

My dell is a few years old and only has VGA, but if I go out now and get a new laptop with HDMI and a VGA port, then I can add two additional screens for a total or three screens?

14 hours later and no replies, I thought you guys might like to beat the gear headed geek squad at best buy to it?

2 additional independent (to the laptops own screen) LCDs, one on the HDMI, another on the VGA?

EDIT: someone has had to try this just for kicks right?

I'm pretty sure most, if not all, laptops do not have triple monitor capabilities. The two external monitors you hook up might just show redundant images. I could be run though.

It depends on the GPU. I've never ran a nvidia lappy, but I know intel won't do it. ATI laptops will allow three screens.

I know the HD4200 will, but the HD3000 series laptops that I had didn't have HDMI. And its almost a given that the dedicated GPU ATI laptop would be able to run them.
