MW2 disc not reading

So my friend has an newer slim xbox, and he recently tried to play MW2, but it said his disc was unreadable. So he bought a new one for cheap, and tried to play it, but the same thing happened. He tried the disc in my friend's older xbox and it worked perfectly. Tried to clean it the corrent way and cannot install the game to the xbox either. Are there any known issues with this game and the new xboxes?
 
hmm was thinking possibly the disc reader but if other games work that idea kinda dont fit, ... but both discs that dont work in this machine work in others?
