My Acer Notebook.

I recently won a laptop in a comptetition...an Acer.
I just recieved BACK today from Acer repair place because the laptop wouldnt turn on...the one button ..it would just ..flash green..

I got it back. I turned it on..yay it works..THEN...I left it for a while (couple of hours..)..and NOW...more problems (this laptop is only about...2months old)....I try to turn it and its not turning on AgaIN!! This time..the battery light blinks yellow at me,,It flashes a few times everytime you try to turn it on. The power is Plugged in! Any ideas whats going on?? Acer notebooks are really starting to tick me off..
 
Acers as a whole are not bad pieces of equipment, you cant base hatred for a brand on one incisident.
Its also possible that the motherboard that was fitted may have been a DOA part (sometimes they will pass the test, which is quite torturous only to fail after it has got back to the customer)
now, does it still do this if you remove the battery and just use the AC adaptor?
 
Nice reply man. Care to give us a little inside or just bash the brand some more? :mad:

That's a pretty obvious hardware issue. Talk with Acer some more, hopfully this time they will replace the whole mobo or laptop.

What are the specs of the laptop? Or at least the model? I don't know anything about them right off, but many someone could say if that's a bad series or something...
 
bad series u rekon? i dunno just a faulty laptop, acers arent all that bad

does the laptop attempt to start up, do you get the whiring of the fans or booting of the HDD?

if not i would say that it is a motherboard problem, or a PS problem.

send it back if you have checked the obvious problems such as take out battery and all that
 
Its the Acer Aspire 1640...
It won't turn on at all! With or without the power cable..
This is the second time my Acer is playing up on me...
..any chance of a new laptop from Acer?

Thats not a bad system.... they have no known issues that the acer repair centres are aware of. the cooling is good and they dont generally have issues with any major component within the system.
