Well you know i'm dumb and well here's the deal. I made the thread where my gpu died and i got weird artifacts and what not. But here's the thing, could it be that me wiping off the thermal paste, could be causing this? So say if i put some artic 5 thermal paste it could work? I mean the gpu itself display an image, but about 5 minutes after starting up it locks up.
 
I don't really think its the thermal paste, I have tried running a graphics card with just the GPU and heatsink no paste, and of course the temperature is WAY higher than usually but well within operating limits. I think you should check for other sources of artefacts too like driver and other software problems.
 
well, i've tried it on two computers and it starts with some minor artifacts, then it locks up and ati says that the gpu has encountered an error. I then have to restart my pc cause it's frozen.
