my BF2 won't open with widescreen monitor

Ever since I got my widescreen monitor (Optiquest q19wb) my BF2 refuses to open. I click to open it and it immediately brings me back to the desktop with the application closed and no error msg.

I've searched around for a solution, but haven't found anything yet so i was hoping someone could help me out. By the way I have a geforce 7800 gs in case that helps. Thx

I would suggest reinstalling BF2 first, as you probably know BF2 doesnt support wide screen resolutions, best you can do is 1280x1024 stretched to fit on your monitor (same with me, slightly disappointing) but that shouldnt stop it running...
