My Blank Disc Won't Work on my XP Computer!!!

I just downloaded loads of stuff from the internet on my laptop - which is a Vista - and put it on a DVD RW disc, but when I went to transfer the information onto my big powerful XP computer, it came up with a message saying 'the disc structure is corrupt and unreadable'. It works on my laptop, but not on the big computer. Why is that, and how can I fix it?

I was downloading custom content for the sims 2 if that helps.

You either burned the disc in a format (like direct disc) that isn't supported on the XP computer or there is an issue with the XP computer itself. Did you burn a standard data disc? What program did you use? On a side note while it's important to figure out your problem so it doesn't happen with something important in the future, but why not download directly to the XP machine?

This is why I prefer using an External Hard Drive or an 8 gigabyte USB flash drive to store and move my data. DVDs can also be damaged so easily.

One suggestion. if the dvd rom works.
try burning to a disc with a diffirent color dye.
Some laser detectors on the drive are more sensitive than
others.

Maybe you burn the disc with livesystem filesystem which is new in vista.
