Well the core components kinda matter :P the extra bling and periphery stuff doesnt matter nearly as much :)

$3000 ouch! I dont think I will ever buy prebuilt again. You would be amazed at what you could build for half the price.

100% correct, never bought a prebuilt, never will :) saying for myself

why didnt u get the fatal1ty mobo
Because that would have been paying for bling-bling and not performance :)

built the practically same comp for 1400 dollars....see below for my specs
Sorry but that's nowhere near "practically the same". Nowhere near.

I just want to say I wasn't trying to knock your purchase. I hope you have good luck with your new machine, have fun!

Thats what I thought, his computer is elite, and $3000 really isnt that bad for warranty and professional installation. He also got a wireless keyboard and mouse... not just a tower. He has the X2 4800... top of the line CPU out there, even better than FX 57.(Proved) Did the cost include shipping? I dont think it was that bad at all. Alienware woulda charged 6000 for that set up.

shipping was somewhere around $100(you have a choice in shipping method/price), and i also paid $47 extra for a 5 day rush(so my system would be built and sent within 5 busness days, instead of up to 10 busness days), but I included these in the total earlier. I think the total was $3,074

 you serious? your comp is NOWHERE NEAR his. practically the same? no way.
well.. my pc is practically the same,.. and ive paid only $1000 for it so.. i think you've paid way to much

ow.. to make it exacly the same.
1 extra Gb RAM = $100
the 4800+ insead of the 4400+ = $200
and a 7800GTX instead of a 6800GT = $200

and with that.. im still on half what you payd.. :D

I get a warranty and professional installation with all my custom built computers :) It's called the manufacturer warranty, and the store warranty...and I would say I prefer my install methods more than anyone. Never had a problem returning fried/broken hardware through RMA/exchange program.

But, nice computer...it definetly packs a punch. If you can afford and justify the extra cash payed, then ignore everyone with negative comments :P
