My cd drives dont work.

theres power to them, i can boot from them. they just dont work in windows.

ive tried uninstalling them then reinstalling them in the device manager, tried pluging them up 1 at a time, and ive tried uninstalling the ata controllers. also ive tried installing the chipset again. whats going on?


ive got vista 64 but ive also seen this in a dell running xp pro 32
the motherboard is an intel dg965wh

got it. booted up into vista setup cd and used system restore

I don't know how Vista would respond but in XP I would go to the following.
