P Person1234 New Member Jan 24, 2007 #1 My chipset fan stopped working, how can I fix it? I've tried cleaning with cottenbuds and with a vacuum cleaner. I'm worry that if I allow the computer to boot it will burn out the chipset. What can I do about it?

The_Other_One VIP Member Jan 24, 2007 #2 Normally when a fan stops working you need to just replace it. Typically if you re-grease it(WD40 and all) it'll start again but only for a few weeks. You can buy replacement ones on newegg for pretty cheap, even passively cooled ones(IE large heat sync and no fan)
