Running Win XP Home Edition SP2
P4 2.4Ghz
512mb Sdram
Radeon 7000 32mb Vid Card
FIC VI13L MOBO

This just started happening. Comp has been running fine for over 8 months. I have not added any new Hardware or Software nor have I removed any.

Any idea what could cause this?

I checked all the wires for peripherals to make sure those were snug, I ran Defrag, and I ran Scandisk (Fix all errors & Bad Sectors).

I do not know what else to do....
Please help.

Thanks

Try this

Hi, When was the last time you re-install windows? I think you should try that. If that does not work, then i think that the problem is your hard drive (since you find and fixed BAD SECTORS).

You could try adding the line, LOGO=0 , to your MSDOS.SYS file in the C drive.
The computer then shouldn't display the logo while booting... it will display the processes it is actualy doing then you can see which is taking the longest.

The same thing happened to me, the motherboard company was displayed on the screen for a few minutes and it didnt find a hard drive, however when it recognizes the hard drive, it loads in a few seconds, so i dont know exactly why its diong it to you, there are several reasons for it do that. Try what Scrat said with the command line. (or jsut try reformatting)

Or disable the quickboot option in your BIOS so you can see what it is hanging on...
