I moved about 2 months ago, and when I booted my system in my new place after the move I was having problems: (i eventually formatted and reinstalled XP but all problems remained)
all Mobo drivers got kicked, refused to reinstall even though the reinstall seemed "successful"
could not update/reset bios, update attempt could not locate bios for update...weird.
removing my Audigy ZS would give back all drivers but ethernet, instantly. And if i loaded it back in they would all be gone again. Audigy card is fine. Reinstall of Audigy drivers stated that it could not locate the card in the PCI slot.
Tried using a PCI ethernet card, again, could not be found in it's PCI slot, i have 4 slots, all not working.
The ATi 9800 seemed to work just fine. Mobo battery was fine.
After a while my 2400+ Athlon was being read as a 1800+ and I deffinetly noticed a slower system. How does this work?
Also, I eventually got constant CHKDSK checks on one of my 300gb Maxtor's. And every now and then it would have to repair corrupt stuff.
I just replaced my Mobo. Problems that remain:
The 2400+ is still read as 1800+, how is this possible?
And the constant CHKDSK checks.
Everything else seems to be fixed now, and my Audigy works fine, but why do I still have other troubles? Thanks.
