When I try and use widows media player for video's my computer will crash and restarts. After it restarts it brings up an error message saying the system has recovered from a serios error, when I click on it to read the error report it says:

D:\DOCUME`1\mike\locals`1\temp\WER580e.dir00\mini123106-02.dmp
D:\DOCUME`1\mike\locals`1\temp\WER580e.dir00\sysdata.xml

What the heck is the problem my video card driver is up to date and I have widows media player 11.

try using a different media player program like winamp. if it does the same on winamp, theres a good chance its ur gfx card.

I downloaded Winamp stil the same problem, I have an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT video card, it was installed maybe 4 months ago, so I do not think that is the problem.

use VLC media plater. is the best.
i have also an error on my computer.
in my videos folder there is 140 videos of all kind of formats(.mov mpeg avi wmv ...)
when i open my videos folder, my computer gets busy for 6 seconds and after that i receive the windows explorer error. when i click dont send then computer colses the explorer.exe and reopens explorer.exe
does anyone know whats the reason?

Try running all your anti virus/spam/hack/spy/pest progz, then a regisrty cleaner for starters. see if that does anything.

tried VLC played a sound for the video for about 3 seconds stopped and then the computer restarted. I have run norto andspy sweeper, both are fine what would be a good registry cleaner?

Ok, so I have some new information just to try something I went into my display properties and went into advanced and turned my hardware acceleration to none and video's now work fine what is the problem?
