My computer boots if....

My computer stopped working about two weeks ago. It was as if the power button had broken, but while troubleshooting, I found that if I take out the 20+4 pin, put it back in, then hit the power button, it works fine. It will then boot normally and perform great. I'm thinking that this is a motherboard problem, but I'm not 100% sure.

If I shut down the computer, it will start again if I hit the power button immediately. If, however, I wait until all signs of power and fan rotation are gone, it won't work again until I reset THAT power connector. Turning the power supply off and on doesn't work.

Anyone seen anything similar?

Sounds like some connectors in you 20/4 pin is not making connection real good. Unplug the connector and make sure that all the wires are pushed in good inside the connector

I tried messing with those connections. The connecter has to be pulled all the way out and reset. It does not seem to have any effect if I wiggle the connector and none of the pins appear to be damaged.
