my computer game wont play and this message keeps coming up...

I keep trying to play roller coaster tycoon 3 and i can install the game successfully but whenever i try to launch it, this message comes up... (check out the attachment)

can anybody tell me why this and happens and how i can fix the problem?

I am sure that I ahve seen this elsewhere, posted by the same user.

Oh yes, I have, and I replied to that one too. One post is enough you know, you don't need multiple threads

sorry, i just thought i needed to put the actual name of the game in the title of the thread and the only way i could change the title of the thread was by creating a new thread. sorry about that, it wont happen again.

also, i tried the compatibility thing but no luck.

1. Some games require that you have updated drivers for both video and sound. If you haven't yet updated those drivers, give that a try.

2. Do you have any other cd/dvd rom drives you can try using? Your cd/dvdrom may be failing and causing the errors when the game is unable to read the data from the disk in the drive.

3. UAC (User Access Control) is also an issue. If you enable or disable UAC after the game was installed, the game won't run properly. Enabling or disabling UAC changes the location of where files are stored. So if you installed with UAC enabled, make sure you leave it enabled for when you play the game.

4. Sometimes laptops video drivers just aren't compatible with certain games. If thats the case there really isn't anything you can do about it.
 
Why dont you try to reinstall the game? it might fix it.

Note: Funny i had the same problem but with my ATI Catylist center. What i did was restore my system 2 days back and fixed the problem.
