my computer is freezing

i am getting (not responding) alot lately.
i have a intel D865GBF with a 2.3g intel hyper threading processor
it has a gig of memory too.
it started doing this so i wiped out the hard drive and started over but it still is doing it
what would cause this? how can i fix it?

You sure about that? (a) I dont think there is a 2.3Ghz chip (b) wasnt HT introduced with the 3.06?
