My Computer isn't turning on...

I hope you guys can help me...

My desktop computer won't turn on. When I turn it on (like how I normally would), only the LED light on the monitor, blinks. I can feel and hear the fan, so the power supply unit is still working. In the past, often it would blink about 5 times, and then the computer would run like normal. But now, it just blinks forever.

This is an on&off problem. I will sometimes be able to turn it back on, but a couple of days later, it will not work again. And when I manage to get it to turn on, this weird BIO POST message (with a blue screen) shows up. I usually press the TAB button to escape the screen. Don't know if that does any damage.

As you can tell, I'm very clueless with computer hardware, and especially computer terminology. So can you guys please use simple human english when replying? :o thanks!! if nothing else works, I will bring it into the computer shop. But since I know nothing about computers, I am sure they'll ask me to fix some parts that don't need fixing...

Well my guess is, is that a wire is loose. That would explain why it comes on sometimes and other times not. I think, but I'm not 100% sure, but you can take a look and find out.

Ok Im going to take a crack at this.

Open your case up. Check all your connections, if they seem good run a memory test.

Sounds like its possibly some bad memory. Its happened to me.

When the computer starts do you hear a beep from the internal MB speaker. Is there more than one beep or even short / long beeps, these can give an indication of where the problem might lie.
