Ok Heres the Problem i have a Hp Pavillion 7955 that wont let my access the internet on from my Cable Modem.

It has Windows XP Pro that i got installed because of a problem before. So now i put in the ethernet cord in the back and it tell me my Local Area Connection Has limited or No Connectivety.

So i check the Status of the internet and under Activity it shows like a certain amount of Packets Sent (Example 52) and the Packets Recieved which is always 0.

I cant seem to figure out what the problem

My Moms computer works great with the internet connected to hers (the computer im using to type this)

So i dont know what it is!

Can Someone please try to help me fix this problem!

did you put the motherboard drivers back on? right click my computer then properties then hardware then device manager and see if the is anything flagged in yellow if there is you will need to get the drivers from the Hp Pavillion website.

Does the system tray say that you are connected? If so, then there might be a problem with the proxy settings.
Check your proxy settings on your LAN configurations.

click start
then run
then type cmd, hit enter
type ipconfig , hit enter
what does it say for your ip address ?

..also try ipconfig/release ( wait for results)
then ipconfig/renew
