my computer wont start!

my computer wont start! i press the power botton and just the lights turns on!! i replaced the video card and that wasnt the problem,
a friend of my told me that its the motherboard!! i want to buy a new motherboard but i cant find the same one cause its discontinued!
cant somebody help me to find one similar to my old one???



this is the motherboard that i need to replace:

if u need more info or u think that the problem its not the motherboard let me know!

I would do some diagnosing before thinking its the motherboard.

Disconnect everything that isn't required to boot the computer and try again. Remove any usb devices, addin pci cards. You may also need to reset the bios by removing the cmos battery, unplug the power supply, press the power button a few times. Then wait a minute and then reinsert battery, plug power supply back in and try booting up.

In your replies you should indicate if there are sounds of anything running, no sounds at all, whether lights are steady or flashing, anything on the monitor etc.
