My desktop icons are gone and a problem with Malwarebytes

I'm currently having a problem where my desktop icons and taskbar have disappeared.

I tried System Restore, but it kept saying: "Restoration Incomplete", on the restart. The icons and taskbar would be back, but they would disappear again if I right-clicked on the desktop. Now when I do System Restore, there is no window on the restart saying whether the restore was completed or not, and the icons and taskbar are gone.

I've downloaded and installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, but when I do a scan, the program closes after about 5 seconds. I had the same problem with Spybot. I also tried VundoFix and VirtumundoBeGone, but they came up clean. One more I tried was AVG, and that scan uncovered 24 potentially harmful files that were deleted, but it didn't fix my problem.

I'm also experiencing Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Windows Task Manager not responding quite a bit.

Thanks if anyone can help me.

Hello, please do the following the the order they appear.

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
NOTE: IF COMBOFIX FAILS TO RUN TRY RENAMING THE FILE TO 'ANYTHING.EXE' WITHOUT THE QUOTES

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.
