My desktop keeps on freezing (been going on for few years)

Hello,

My Desktop is always freezeing a lot. It useally freezes when i am doing something in particular like watching youtube videos or play Gta San Andreas.

About year and a half ago i got a electric pump and cleaned all of the dust out of the machine then it appeared to work perfectly. Altough after a while it started to freeze again so i stopped using the machine and just used my laptop..

So, now i have decided to get my machine set up again so i can just do a few things on it but it has froze 2 or 3 times within a few hours.

Here are my Specs which i put onto pastebin, does anyone know how i can test each component to figure out the root of my problem.. (Video card may be a problem?.. because it didn't start to freeze up untill i installed Java although that could be a coincidence )

For starters, did you look at the inside of your PC since the last clean out? A PC on a carpet can clog up in a few months.

It's not clear what your electric pump is. Most people use Dustbuster or an air compressor (with care) to clean out the PC. The CPU heatsink is particularly important.

You may have other issues but if dust is a known issue, address that first. Your page file is quite large but I don't think that would cause problems. The Java is probably a coincidence as you said but you could disable automatic updates temporarily to see if the freezing goes away.

how do i check the temp of my CPU? Also it could be a video card problem because it seems to happen most when i am on world of warcraft... BUT

Some days i can play WoW for 4 or 5 hours In a row with no problems but then it will freeze... and once it has frozen i will restart and it will keep restarting every 30 mins... but some other dayts it will just freeze after 30 mins straight away..

But then when i just browse forums and facebook it will almost never freeze, althoguh it still does sometimes...

You check your CPU temperature with either a utility that came with your MB (preferable) or a utility like Speedfan. You should make sure your graphics card heatsink is not bunged up too.

How do i check my video card heatsink? + i will get speedfan now

EDIT:

here is the speedfan temps:

It's difficult to tell which temperatures are which until you have used Speedfan a few times on your PC. That's why I said a MB utility (one that came on the setup disk) is preferable. The 43 and 32 would be OK (CPU and MB?). If 63 is the CPU temp that is high.

You have some strange voltages there in the -5 and -12V but those are not generally used these days.

You should check all the heatsinks for accumulated dust and dirt. I would have thought your graphics card would have a utility that would show temperature.
