Hi all,

Im sorry if this is in the wrong section,If so mods please move to the appropriate place.

Ive had enough with my computer now,Its driving me crazy.

Its just so god damn slow & un reliable i dont have a clue whats up with it.

Ive done some of the basic things like search for Spyware & Viruses & stuff but they found nothing.

Programs usualy dont respond and crash my computer.

So i done a destructive system restore with the System restore cd that came with my computer to restore it to default factory settings and it is still slow.

Can anyone help me?

It originaly came with 256Mb Pc3200 memory but i had my local computer store add another 256 to bring it up to 512Mb.

My computer is a Hp Pavilion.

My computers specs are in sighniture.

You could try upgrading to 1GB of RAM and buy a video card(if you have a place to put one).

Hi there,

Realy i dont wonna be spending anymore money on this pc as its just not worth it.
1Gb of ram isnt exactly cheap here in the Uk also if i get a graphics card i will also need a new Psu.
It used to be quite fast but now its so slow:mad:

Anyway ive heard that if i did upgrade my memory and graphics that my processor (Sempron)would be a bottleneck for gaming?

That wouldnt help his computer from freezing...

When was the last time you reformated?

Hi,

I didnt reformat because my copy of windows was pre-instaled ,OEM as they call it i think?

It was already instaled and they gave me Syetem recovery disks.

I done a Destructive system recovery about a week ago, which restored all the windows files to default i think and then i had to install all my programs again.

But it was still slow.

i recently bought a single stick of ram from ebuyer for about £55... thats the cheapest ive seen in the uk.
Didn't you have another thread about a blue screen somewhere on here? my best guess to your problem is that your ram is giving you the problems. when one of my old sticks of ram were giving me problems i noticed a severe drop in performance and also i had regular blue screens with errors like vpn list corrupt and invalid page fault in nvagp.sys.

1. System restore is relatively crap .. it's designed to get your computer working but thats about it ..working. Not working fast
2. Make sure you have the drivers installed!

Damn u shoulda asked me :P Anywho .. ValueSelect

Ok you saythe system is slow ... how are you noticing it? :)

Google for "Tuneup Utilities" and download the demo with the full features and run the system optimiser, it works for both system and networking settings.
