ok so when I go to make a data CD in windows explorer it says it reached a problem and can't copy it into the D drive. Could I update the firmware? I really have no clue.

ya I thought about that. Thats seems like a better and safer idea.
u can still do it with winexp
if u can get into the computers inner workings, make sure that all the wires r connected right to the drive. make sure u get ne updates for Windows like the SP2 update if u dont have it. make sure ur disc ur using hasn't bin written on bfore if it isn't RW. sometimes RW discs dont work if u write them too many times. Make sure the disc is the right speed. Try another brand. Goto MyComp and Right clik the drive. make sure that "Use With DLA" is cheked. Also clik "Format" if none of this works.
