MY Ethernet adapter not detected on Linux

Hey there,
This one has me stumped.
I have Zenwalk Linux installed on my computer and now it does not detect the fact there is a ethernet cable attached to my computer (although it detects that theres an adapter on WinXP)
There is a Linux driver for it but I cannot get on the internet to Download it and i cannot access my CD drive on linux either :confused:

Anyone got some ideas on how I can fix this.
