I just got my paycheck so, i finally decided to go for this setup:

Processor:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (2,2 GHz) "Manchester"

Motherboard
ABIT Fatal1ty AN8-SLI

Memory
Kingston DIMM 2 GB (Retail, DD400-X64-C3AK2, Dual Channel Kit)

Video
MSI NX7800GTX-T2D

Harddisk
Maxtor DiamondMax 250GB 7200rpm 16MB cache

Cooler
Thermaltake silent tower

Case
???

Still not sure about the case. Also not sure about the SLI-mobo, because im probably not planning on putting 2 video cards in there.
 
Yes, SLI is deffinatly a good thing to go for, but if u don't have to have a pc right away, check out news for ati's crossfire!
 
The Fatal1ty is somewhere around 200, I would look at the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI for about 30 less. That's a nice board.
 
Don't forget arctic silver and windows if needed. Also optical drives. What ever case you get, be sure to check the psu and if its junk, buy a separate one.

I would definately get the Ultra MS Dragon case. It's big, has screwless fan mounts, and these cool things that make it really easy to remove drives. It also has removable hdd and fdd trays.
 
ok i was looking at the ms dragon case, but it doesnt include a psu. Which psu do you recommend (watt?) Because the price increment is enormous

what kind of case are you looking for, a gaming case, or just a nice looking black or silver case?? Ive read reviews on newegg that many of the psu's that come with the cases shorted their mobo and other parts, so i didnt take a chance and got the ultra x-connect 500w psu, its realy nice and would reccomend it to anyone, its 50$ USD. I have an aspire X-Dreamer case, and if your looking for a gaming case, that one is awsome looking, cost only 60 USD. just wasnt verry hand friendly to set up, it gave me a few pretty bad scrapes, but to me it dosent matter cuz its just one day to hook up and the comp is gonna last you a wile..
