My First Build

Hey everyone. I'm planning on building a PC for myself that i could upgrade over time and im trying to keep the price fairly low, but ive never built one before. I put one together on newegg and I'm really happy with it but i would like some opinions and i want to make sure everything will be compatible and work. If you could share your opinion I would appreciate it. heres the link.

Here it is

i think your sound card is a bit overkill for you speakers, for those speakers. The lanparty onboards shoud be ok for them.

P.S Preator will love your board ;)

If your not sound-based gamer, getting the MSI K8N Neo4 with its onboard 24bit hardware audio might be a better choice, save some money there :)

As for compatability, the video card is an AGP one and the motherboard a PCIE one so one of them is gonna have to go (ideally the videocard). Also, whats the intent of the machine?

intent is gaming. i need a fast and stable PC that i can continue upgrading. and $1100 is actually gonna take me a while to save up for anyway so :P but are u sure the vid card isnt compatible? cause its like a perfect price. could anyone help me find a replacement for the same price?

lol sorry about this. ive never built a PC before so im a n00b at this stuff. any recommendations for a vid card then?

for a midrange card a 6600/6600GT or an x700Pro...or possibly an x800 (assuming the price ever drops like it's supposed to)

for all intents and purposes they are pretty much identicle (the PCIe/AGP bridge for converting puts a small performance hit on them)

Yes AGP and PCIe will have the same image quality for the same graphics core. Price wise, AGP is still a little cheaper for most cards but that will change, everything is moving to PCIe

well say i got an AGP mobo.
Not when you specified your system originally you didnt. Regardless, if you're buying a new system, you might as well shift over to PCIE
