My first ever build

In the title. I'm on a budget of £500-600 ($743-892), I just want to know if the specs I have chosen are okay. I want to use this pc for general gaming(rFactor, Live for Speed, HL2, Crysis, Test Drive Unlimited etc) and general use at home via Internet, MSN etc.

I'm a bit confused which processor to pick between the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, as the Q6600 can be overclocked easily and can be easily done to 3GHz, and it more suited for the future but the E8400 is good for games now.

Enough talking now, here are the specs (if there's anything cheaper or anything that I should change please let me know, also if you want links ask and I'll put them on this topic for you ;).)

looks good but make sure to check and see if the ram works with the mobo. would suck to get ram at the wrong voltage and have to send it back in
 
The RAM and the Mobo have same voltage.

Which processor should I go for? The Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600?
