I have a AMD Sempron that was clocked at 1.74ghz and now i OC it to 1.89 ghz.... my proble is that if i reach like the 1.9+ it just shut down i don't think because it's temp becaise my temp stays under 60C at full load... so what could be the problem??? My ram is a PC2100 and a PC2700.. could that be the reason???... and one more thing I have a Fan from a burned out PSU can i use it???

Don't judge me on this but from what I have heard AMD CPU's are not very good over clockers. So that might be the best you can get.

Get a second opinion though.

They will go alot hotter than 60c mate, better cooling would be good though... maybe a better HS & fan. Think you may need to put a divider in place of the FSB/RAM if you have that option in your motherboard BIOS. Also you may need to increase the CPU voltage to get a better OC.

**warning increasing the voltage on the CPU could kill it**

You need to lower your HT multiplier, so the HT link doesnt go over 1000 MHz ideally.

You also want to up the voltage a little bit and lower your ram speed.

All can be done in BIOS and checked in CPU Z

What Sempron is this a Socket A or 754 and what are you wanting to do with the P/S fan?

I can't change any of thoose that why i'm using cpucool, my bios doesn't allow me to control voltage, or multiplier... i had to find my PLL code from ICS and only inacrease my FSB as my option.. unless CPU cool can do more and i don't know abotu taht... I want to turn my PSU fan into a fan for my Gfx card... is it possble??

You could be overclocking your memory and being a socket A the PCI bus might not be locked depending on the chipset and could be overclocking the PCI bus.

I remember having to use my PLL to overclock my P4 2.2ghz.. Got it up to 2.4, but sadly it was unstable :/ .

make sure your fsb is lower than the recommended o your motehrboard, and your frquencies wont mess with the operating system.
