Just last week I got my E6600 and decided to overclock on Sunday. I got it up to 3.6 just by raising the FSB but when I got into windows, after a few seconds, it bsod on me. I was only increasing by say 25 mhz at a time until i got it up to 3.6 and then that is when it became unstable. I have TAT installed and temps were below 50 degrees at 3.6. So do you think at that point I need to raise cpu voltage?

ya 1.375... and by the way.. ive heard that if you overclock you want to go sloooowly... maybe 5-10MHz at a time... not a huge jump of 25 or 50 or something... little by little

And make sure after each jump, check for stability by running dual instances of prime95. IMO, i wouldnt raise voltages at all... voltage does crazy thins to a CPU

why go slowly? if you know that its possible to get a core 2 duo to 3.0 ghz +, why not just skip up to 2.8 ghz and then start increasing fsb slowly?

All chips are different, You may not reach as high with one than another.. But there is no need for much restraint when just beginning since most procs have some oc headroom to begin with. So long as you have your ram and everything else in check you can just overclock in leaps and bounds at the start, especially with such an oc friendly lineup of CPU's.
