Also, what happens once it is all together? Boot it up and stick in the windows disk?

Maybe link me to a tutorial.
Thanks in advance.

Well, AMD's dont support DDR2, so you should get 1GB (or more) of PC3200. You also need to pick out a motherboard. I would also get a new power supply, since stock ones are pretty cheap and dont work well with high performance systems. Other than that it looks very good.

Those cases like that scare me... First off, I've had problems with my fan controller that came with my case. It's very cheap and the grounds started shorting out. Now that one could be totally different, but I'm just warning you, espcailyl seeing as you can't look at it... Also, I don't like the CD ROM things like it has. You don't know how easilly it'll hit your eject bottons. And if you add a 3rd drive, it looks all funky :P

The motherboard, from what I read when I was getting my video card(the step below that 7800), is COMPLETE SHIT! I didn't check to see if they had reviews there, but people really had problems on newegg... And for the price difference between that card, you can get a fairly decent mobo for the same price.

RAM was mentioned above...

I don't know the specs on the power supply, but I bet it's weak... THat might be a problem, but can't say for sure.

Oh, one other thing... That mouse, I have one like it. It's very nice except for one thing. The wheel is a smooth scrolling wheel. It's very nice, HOWEVER, it will mess you up in games! See, since it won't click into place, sometimes it'll be partially turned so a little tap will make you switch weapons, or whatever. Other than that, it's a nice mouse.

That is not DDR-2 RAM... Read it. It is just DDR-500 PC-4000
The motherboard that comes with it is not bad. i am currently using it and the overclock options are not bad and the board itself seems pretty stable.
@the above post
That motherboard is free...Also, it's running fine.

It supports SATA2 also. I am running a SATA2 8mb cache HItachi Deskstar at the moment.

Sorry didnt see that the mobo was with the video card, but that looks good.

Your motherboard only allows memory up to DDR400, not DDR500 as the memory you picked out. Go with DDR400, it will also be much cheaper.

And get a new PSU, then your golden.

Thanks for that comment on the mouse, and everyone else comments and fixes for me to make. I will try and add all of that in and see what I come up with. From the last 2 posts above this one, the motherboard does not seem so bad, and it is FREEEE!

Also, answer this question in my original post:

Also, what happens once it is all together? Boot it up and stick in the windows disk?

The reason that people get higher clocked memory is to overclock easier. If you had DDR-500, then you could underclock and then overclock and it would do it easily.
True, but you can get very overclockable DDR400 memory. And the timings on the memory he picked out are pretty bad.

And his motherboard only supports SATA (as far as i can tell from the description), i would go with a SATA 150 hard drive w/16 MB cache.

The motherboard supports SATA2. I am running it right now.

When it is all together, yes, you boot it up and put in the windows disk. Press any key when it tell you to do so.

Please rate and or tell me what is wrong and what won't work.

Thanks in advanced.

1. Whats the budget for the computer (not including keyboard, mouse and all that extra crap)
2. I assume this is a gaming machine? (gotta check some people think it normal to have SLI boxes for email)

1. I am not sure what my budget on just the computer is, because I need all of that other stuff including an OS (XP Pro). But my budget all together is $2015 CND.

2. Yes

Also for Dual-Core do you need XP Pro, or will XP Home do it?

and from what I picked above, will it work if I ordered that today and put it all together?

XP Home should do it ... XP treats it the same way it treats hyperthreaded Pentium4s :)

For what you originally picked, yes it should work :)

Thanks. If anyone else has abit of input to add before I buy tomorrow. I am buying every peice I had listed above, so just one more clairification, will that for sure work?

Thanks Praetor.

I have now purchased everything I had listed above. A slight change on the monitor.

I have learnt alot and I learn fast.

Thanks.
