My Friends Build

hey,
I have an older gateway right now that has windows 98 on it with 256 mb of ram. Its getting old {1994} so I need an update. Since I have windows 98 I cant use some of the newer things like mp3 players and a camera in the future.
Here is what my friend and I have come up with.

BTW-I have a short budget of only around 250$

Case - Athenatech MicroATX Mid-Tower Case with 200W Power Supply (Silver/Black), Model "A106" -RETAIL

Mobo - FOXCONN "K7S741MG-6L" SiS 741 Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket A CPU -RETAIL

CPU - AMD Sempron 2500+ 1.750GHz, Socket A Processor - Retail

RAM - Rosewill 184-Pin 512MB DDR PC-2700, Model RW333/512 - Retail

We have HDD's and a CD drive.

It will mainly be used just for playing music and going on the internet, and watching videos.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

I like this mobo better because it handle dual channel but it is a slightly more money.

and this ram is pc3200 which is faster and get 2 256 so you can run in dual channel

the cpu you chose looks fine.

These are just things to consider if these things make it to much more money then stick to what you have except the case I would really consider since it the same price of the one you chose.

using the parts I chose cost 271 compare to the 239 you parts cost.

The Case and MB you suggested wont work together. The case is ATX and the Mobo is Micro ATX

edit: well since Praetor already answered I really have no responce.

same type of skew holes. every atx case I ever seen will have holes in the prober location for both atx mothboards and microatx motherboards.
