So I'm trying to get Real VNC Free Edition to work and I am wondering what ip address I should use when connecting to it. My external ip is 67.1X5.5.XX and the VNC is setup on port 5900.

Context: I am trying to get remote desktop on my android tablet. I am trying to follow this: http://www.toremote.com/docs/vncpro

via internet eventually, for now internal to test. Would it be different for both?

You would use a different IP address for both. For external (ie the internet) you would need your internet IP (67.1X5.5.XX). For internal you would need your internal IP which will probably be in the form 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x .

also you will obviously need forward the 5900 port to the desktop you wish to connect to. You do this in your router config page
