hey all,

my new laptop that i just bought has a AMD Turion MK-36
ATI Mobility RADEON® Xpress 1100 series chipset in it and i was wondering what you thought of it for basic gaming, i mean will it run basic games like battlefield 1942, dawn of war, cs, cs:s etc?

thanks

I suppose they would run but on low/Medium graphics settings.

Heres BF1942 System requirements
* Windows® XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, (Windows NT and 95 are not supported)
* 500 MHz Intel® Pentium® or AMD Athlon™ processor
* 128 MB RAM
* 4x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive
* 1.2 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games (additional space required for Windows swap-file and DirectX™ 8.1 installation)
* 32 MB video card which supports Transform & Lighting and with DirectX 8.1 compatible driver
* DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
* Keyboard, Mouse

How much memory does the laptop have?

it has 512mb with it but can be upgraded to 4gb in future :D

Hmm...I would add another 512Mb or even better 1Gb to that lappy if you could because because the games might lag a little.

Laptops are not realy good for gaming imo but it should play.

Realy Jon you should download demos of the games you mentioned and see how well they run on that laptop before you go and buy them.

Then you can determine how good the graphics are.

I tried Oblivion on a display laptop at work with the 1100. It didn't work good at all, it's much worse than the X300

yea it dose suck, i have an old laptop Dell 9100 with radeon 9700 128mb with 768mb ram and a 3.2 P4 CPU and it runs BF1942 secret weapons of WW2 On full settings.
