My laptop is crashing even after resetting to factory settings

I reinstalled windows and it's still crashing. Now what I'm worried about is that it was damaged in shipping. There is a little back-story here.

The computer (an acer) has some fancy dolby home theater speakers 5.1 but really they kinda suck because they make this horrid noise sometimes. Anyway I sent it out to Acer for them to fix (they just messed with the sound settings and sent it back unrepaired) and then i tried to get newegg (retailer) to replace it for me but they just sent it back.

Ok now ever since newegg sent it back to me it has been intermittantly crashing. What could this mean?

Has it been blue screening? Can you give us any error messages that it has been throwing at you? We can't help you unless you help us by giving us more information.

Have you looked in the event viewer for details on why its freezing up? It could be a bad hard drive, motherboard, anything really.
