My laptop keeps freezing frequently.

Hello all,
my laptop seems to be playing up recently. Freezing whenever it feels like it, even when my system is on no stress. Infact, it always freezes whenever there is no stress on my laptop, when my DISK and CPU usage are at about 0-5% it will freeze for a few minutes and start running back again. I am not sure if this is a virus or not, but it freezes very frequently all of a sudden and I'm lost for what to do. Anyone can you help me please? Thank you in advance.

what os is it? have you tried safe mode...tried but true first step with freezing/locking up issues. if the problem no longer occurs, then software/malware is the culprit

^^ Sweet, thanks for the help man, hopefully running my laptop in Safe Mode will help... But I don't know how to. How do you run your computer in Safe Mode?

Depends on your OS, but generally for a Windows machine, hit F8 just before the Windows logo is due to come up.
What kind of laptop is it? sometimes can be hardware issues particularly sound, if it's just a short freeze.
