My Laptop V Desktop

O.K if someone can answer me a little question
i have a home pc and a laptop specs =

Desktop =
processor : intel(r) celeron(r) 2.50ghz
ram : 512
graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 6200

Laptop =
processor : intel(r) pentium(r) M Processor 1.40ghz
ram : 512
graphics : Mobility Radeon 9000

Both had clean installs and the all latest respective drivers installed, installed all XP SP2 updates.

Now looking at the specs i would think the desktop would preform better but the laptop preforms better in all tasks set it.

Battlefield 2 : Desktop cant play, laptop plays great
Battlefield 1942 : Desktop is jumpy on low settings, Laptop plays full graphics

sims 2 : desktop is jumpy on lowest settings, laptop is fine on medium settings

the laptop boots faster, and runs alot smoother..

i am just wondering if this sounds like faulty hardware etc..

That makes me curious as well Bluewind. My only guesses would be maybe your FSB on your laptop is greater than your desktops. Maybe your laptops RAM is set faster than your desktops. Or your laptop video card is set faster, or has more graphics RAM than your desktop does. Those are my four guesses as to why your experiencing what you are. I wonder if I'm right:confused:

I experienced this on my laptop as well, but my CPU was a C2D, vs a P4. My GPU was a 7700 vs an x700pro (AGP) etc etc. So I knew I was getting a better machine from the get go.

The main reason i have started to notice this is because my desktop machine is playing games that it meets the minimum specs on.

Ok just ran a couple of system identification programs..

it says the memory on graphics card on pc is 256mb
and on laptop it says 32mb

anyone know how i can get my pc running as it should
