Hello,

I'm pretty much a newbie at the computer hardware arena, but it is a new interest for me.

My current primary desktop PC system is as follows:

AMD Athlon X2 dual-core 4200+
2000 MHz front side bus, L2 cache 512 KB x2
320 GB IDE HD 7200rpm
2 GB PC3200 DDR RAM, (4-512MB sticks)
Double-layer 16x DVD +/- RW drive
16x DVD-ROM drive
eVGA 7600GT video card with 256MB DDR3 VRAM, PCI-E x16 (upgrade from onboard nVidia 6100 graphics)
Sound Blaster Audigy SE card (upgrade from onboard sound)
Thermaltake 430W power supply (upgrade from stock Bestec 300W unit)

HP w19b LCD monitor, 19", 700:1 contrast ratio, 5 ms, DVI connection to PC
Philips MMS321 2.0 speakers

PC with all upgrades: $780
Monitor+speakers: $300

Total system cost: $1080

I use my computer for spreadsheet (I use OpenOffice), internet, and Autocad (2005 LT). I am also hoping to learn some 3D graphics software on it.
