looked it up and is offered with 2600 models so it should run the 2600k, but unless you plan to do video editing/encoding/decoding on it then the2500 will do just as good, you won't notice the difference.

well he has a prebuilt machine, so even if it is a 1155 socket, normally it is only programmed to support a few cpu's, not all in that socket, so saying you have 1155 so any 1155 is incorrect.

they don't always update the bios to support a new cpu, once they sell you the machine and have their money, they only really fix things that are necessary, and few people will ever even try to install things like a new cpu, alot don't even know you can upgrade things, just because the socket is right doesn't mean the mobo supports all cpu's for that socket, that's the way it is. and also some bios can only support up to a certain speed, on older comps if you wanted to upgrade the cpu you have to know what it supports cuz they won't take some of the newer ones that are a higher fsb or clock speed or whatever, they just can't handle the speed, and a new bios update doesn't always fix that, and sometimes can't.

The motherboard has a H67 chipset, so there is no point getting a K part.

It will however support 2400, 2500, 2600 parts.
