My monitor hates me...

Hey all!

So my monitor decided to adopt a green tint, and now its excessively bright. Its an oldish LCD. Do you reckon its dying, or that its to do with the video card? If so, how could I check without getting another monitor?

Try reaseated your graphics card if is not on board (take it out and re insert it). May be the light inside the monitor failing or maybe a magnet has been near the screen?
 
Do you have on board graphics? You could always remove your current graphics card and run the monitor off the on board graphics port. That would certainly show you if it were the monitor or if it were the graphics card. Might be an idea to test the monitor on someone else's PC?
