get a 6600gt instead, the difference between 3000+ and 3200+ isnt big. Get a better psu. dont forget windows if needed

ya, that graphics card could be better.
u can get an X700 for 115, u will notice the difference alot.

For the video card, which is better, RADEON X600 XT 256MB DDR PCI-Express or RADEON X700 Pro PCI Express 256mb. The reason I want to get either one of these is for the PCI Express.

The question was for EternityOfSuffering so unless you know him personally and got the answer stright from him I not looking for your guess.

That is a lot of heat sink, are you planning on overclocking? If not then ditch this and just stick with the stock cooling that comes with your cpu.

How about this psu
That psu was a heat sink (hsf), if you want a few suggestion as to a good psu there are some good ones in psu101

you may be able to get a better graphics card with the cash you've saved above. Maybe squeeze an x700pro, or a 6600gt

The reason I want to get a raptor is because I do a lot of video editing as well as burning DVDs and having a fast hard drive will save me a lot of time. As for the heat sink, I have no future plans on overclocking however I do not have air condition and therfore my computers in the past have been pron to overheat, also I like my fans quite. As for the graphic card, I have plans later on getting a better one however since I am a bit tight on cash, I will try and get the x700pro and later upgrade it if needed.

What i plan on doing with this computer is mainly burning, and playing a couple games here and there. I used to be a hardcore gamer however now I spend most of my time doing video editing as well as burning.

Many people will tell you that you should go with the 3000+ over the 3200+ because the extra $$$ isn't worth the small performance increase. I jus built my pc about a month ago and i have the 3000+ and couldn't be happier with it.

the x700 has 110M transistors while the x600 has only 70M. also the x700 has twice as many pixel pipelines. so the x700 is better.

A high transister count is purely coincidental and doesnt imply that the device is good... :)
