Your mobo doesn't support Core 2 Duo, I would go with one that supports DDR2 800 as well. I would make sure to buy a good case and PSU. Also if you need to cut back on price to do so go with a little cheaper C2D. Whats this computer for? I can give more detailed info than. Also, what is your budget?

MSI is a good brand but if the eVGA is cheaper definetly go with that.

Well if you are ordering online give us the link and we will make sugegstions on that site.

Id wait for DX10, or get a 256 basic 7900 GS, as they are still perfect or playing games...

also, go for a P5B deluxe, or even a P5B 'Vanilla' or a Gigabyte DS3

id also go for a 'proper case' like a cheap Lian Li or something...

alos, go for some proper branded RAM

£1000 is a decent amount of money for a custom built PC. My recommendation:

Intel Conroe E6600
Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 (or the GA-965P-DS3)
Corsair XMS2 2GB RAM
nVidia 7900GT (Upgrade it when DX10 cards become mainstream and a standard)
SATA II HDD
Antec TruePower 2.0 TP-II 550 Watt PSU
+ a Case of your choice.

Should equate to much below £1000.
