Hello ive chose all my parts and everything i was wondering if someone with the knowledge could tell me weather all the component are compaitable and will work :). So if someone can please give me a proffesinal review that would be great.

Please dont tell me to downgrade, These are the modern days and are i rather have a pc that will last me a few years.

i was just wondering, do you really need the CD-ROM? because most people/software use DVD nowadays and your DVD-ROM/DVD-RW can read CD...

another thing is that you listed 3 sets of RAM... can your motherboard support that?? as far as i know, all motherboard only support 2 pair of RAM (4 sticks) and from the link in your list it already comes with a pair of RAM... is the other pair for backup??

anyway, i was just wondering about those...
as for your power supply, you might want to look at PC Power & Cooling and get the 1KW so that you have more room to run your computer...

otherwise its a pretty looking build... awesome i would say...
 
I mostly use CD-ROM's, its speed it much faster than a dvd-rom/rw thats the only reason i chose it.

I thought it was a single 2gb ram stick. If they are a pair reduce it to 2 sets only.

As for the PSU i dont think coolermaster have a 1KW one, But ill re-check that.

for PSU, look the this brand "PC Power & Cooling" it has 1KW continuous PSU... that means the power supply is stable at 1KW :eek:

EDIT: i just searched from the ebuyers and maplin... cant find the PSU i was talking about... :(
 
Im worried about weather it will fit in the coolermaster base unit though. Apart from that is everything compaitable because i just selected what i liked.

i believe the OCZ PSU should be able to fit in there because i heard that the CoolerMaster Stacker is a really big case... so no worries there... :D

in all honesty i think your being extremely insane in spending nearly £1000 on hard drives alone when your hardly getting any space. You're paying a stupid premium just to have the cheetah drive. You would be better off getting something like a 1-2 Raptors (150gb) and then putting in something like a 750gb sata.. The total saving would be around £700......

but then again im just sceptical about the entire build to be honest, seems to much like a "lets put together the most expensive machine i can and see what people think"

In truth your time would be better spent giving an idea of what you actually want the machine to do and looking at how to get everything you need for a damn sight less.......
 
You're right in your way.. But SCSI hard drives are the best out there, thats why i chose them. If im buying a good PC why not just invest into something that will last me a few years rather then thinking back and saying i should have bought the better one.
 
possibly becuase its just not worth the cost at all, using raptors would do the job just fine for a long time to come. Factor in the dropping costs of drives all the time and you oculd easily put some faster drives (and at a much reduced cost) in the future.

You could be looking at using that money to add solid state drives at a later date which would eclipse those drives.

Seriously, £1k for 650gb of hard drives is simply foolish, i cant think of any other way to describe it.

May i ask what you want to do with this system?
 
- Running multiple gaming servers.
- Playing games (need extremly high fps and quality).
- Need the PC to be up day and night.
- Working off it to manage my business.
- Surfing the net
- Download allot of crap
- Running various applications to manage my other servers.

All of that will be happening all the time.
 
nothing there to warrant the price spent to be honest on the drives to be honest, of course its entirely up to you but i just dont see it warranting that much spent on HDD. If you download a lot then extra space would be preferable too. Using a couple of raptors or if set on it a couple of cheetahs for the stuff that needs essential speed and then just some straight SATA drives for the rest.

I play games on high settings, download a hell of a lot of stuff, manage my work (which is essentially a business in itself), run a shed load of apps etc.

For that i use SATA only, currenty nearly 2TB of space and its runs perfectly.
 
That PSU is Enhance built, and a very solid unit. It's also overkill for that system. Additionally:
  • You've listed three RAM kits, which is more than the board will support. Go with two of the kits for a total of 4GB (more than sufficient)
  • Is there any point to having a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and DVD-RW? Consider that you only have one built in IDE port on the board, so can only support two IDE devices without adding a controller card.
  • With that sort of a budget, two 8800GTXs in SLI might be worth the extra money if you'll be doing a lot of gaming.
 
thanks for replying ceewi1 what do you mean why the third point, if you can find anything linked to ebuyer about the product that would be great.

As for the ram yes im only getting 2 sets, ive decided to get 1 cd rom and one dvd/rw

EDIT: One thing I meant to say earlier, you've listed several SCSI drives, but no SCSI controller. Have you planned for this?

It might also be worth spending a little money on a decent aftermarket cooler, particularly if you intend to overclock.

Thanks for pointing the scsi controller, I am planning now, just looking for a decent one.

Yeah im getting a water cooling kit.
