My new rig wont work

So i just bought my new rig, but im using my old hd and my old disk drive. The problem is that after i reinstalled windows and put the old hd in the new computer nothing comes on the screen. It remains black and the blue light in on my computer blinks as if it doesnt have any signal coming from the computer. Idk what could be wrong wtih it, any ideas?
 
In the BIOS, make sure the HD holding your OS is set to boot first in the boot priority. You installed your OS on a different HD, right?
 
You need to reinstall Windows on the HD in your NEW computer, you can't reinstall it on the HD while it was in your previous computer, then swap it out.
 
the only problem is that my screen seems to be in standby and wont show any image so i have no clue what to do

I had the exact problem with my pc rig but I sent it back to komplett and got it fixed. when you turn on nothing shows right? if so your ram and mobo is defective. Can you take out your ram modules and don't put any in and when you turn on a beep should happen also make sure the ram is snug and fully in place
