I spent a good part of the evening reading the stickys and others questions and comments. THIS FORUM KICKS AZZ!!!!! My 5 year old HP 520n finally bit the dust...pretty sure the thing is fried. I was wanting a new system anyways! I read about buying a prebuilt (dell,sony,hp,ect....) "vs" building one. I was kinda nervous about getting a "non name brand" "non brick n mortar" type PC. WOW I sure hope the system I put together performs as good as it sounds like it will. Ill make sure I post an update when its up and running.
I called www.tigerdirect.com and one of the associates helped me put together a pc that fit my needs (ok I might have went a bit overboard) anyways heres what I got....please be honest. You wont hurt my feelings. Ive already bought it and it should be here in a few days.

after S/H the grand total was $1040.00. I wasnt sure if i needed the 2 year 24 hr on site warranty....but i got it just in case. Yea Im probably a sucker! But 1 call from the geek squad was more than the 2 year protection plan I got with this set up.
